Smith Joins Board of American Bankers Association

LANCASTER, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/18/06 -- R. Scott Smith, Jr., chairman, chief executive officer and president of Fulton Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: FULT), has been elected to the board of the American Bankers Association for a three-year term.

In addition to ABA, Mr. Smith is active in a variety of community and industry-related organizations, and he currently serves on the boards of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the Economic Development Company of Lancaster County.
